Children are encouraged to bring their backpacks to our morning services (10am at St. George's and 11am at Calvary) for our annual “Blessing of the Backpacks.” Children will receive a special blessing from the clergy, and prayers for the school year ahead. They'll also leave with a small gift from our Sunday School team. 

As part of our "Blessing of the Backpacks" this year, we're partnering with Coalition For The Homeless to donate school supplies to children in need.

Our goal is to help at least (50) children start their school year off on the right foot. 

Please consider donating a filled backpack or two and help a child in need. Or contribute $30 and we will fill one for you. Once the backpack is filled with the necessary supplies, kindly place a label inside of the backpack with the fulfilled grade level and bring to church by September 9. Include a personalized note -  “From your friends at Calvary St. George’s Church, Grade Level ___”

We will include these backpacks at our blessing of the backpacks on September 16, 2018. 

Feel free to take advantage of some of the amazing sales currently taking place at your local Staples, Office Depot, or Target.

If you go to Staples the women at the checkout counter will even pack the backpacks with all the supplies you buy.
