The day before the beginning of Lent is known as Shrove Tuesday. To “shrive” someone is to hear acknowledgement of their sins, to assure them of God's forgiveness, and to give them appropriate spiritual advice. Per tradition, we will serve pancakes, and after the meal, we will burn last year’s palms that will be used at Ash Wednesday services.
