Reformation Pilgrimage 2020

One of the great ministries that has developed at the parish is our annual pilgrimage. In August 2020, we’ll be going on a REFORMATION PILGRIMAGE to Germany and Austria.

Join us as we traverse Germany and dip our toes into Austria to see the greatest sights of the Protestant Reformation. Among the many sights we visit will be Wittenberg, where Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses to the church doors, and Worms, where Luther famously stood trial for his beliefs declaring, “Here I stand, I can do no other!”

A highlight of the trip will be a visit to Oberammergau for its epic Passion Play.

A theatrical tradition since 1634, the world-famous Oberammergau Passion Play is a much-anticipated re-enactment of the crucifixion of Christ–from His entry into Jerusalem to the Resurrection–performed only once a decade in the quaint Bavarian village of Oberammergau.

Here at The Parish of Calvary ~ St. George's, we believe pilgrimage is a fantastic way to engage your faith. Whether it's a devotional trip to a historic holy site, or a long trek to a sacred location, pilgrimage lets us embody our callings as Christians: creatures on a journey to a destination, in need of God's grace everyday.
