Cosmic Vending Machine? Luke 11:1-13

In this Sunday's reading we saw an instance of shameless persistence. In it, Luke is trying to get his readers to see and know that God wants us to consistently come before him with our needs, wants, and everything else. “For,” in his own words, “everyone who asks receives, everyone who searches finds, and for everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.” But in light of the experience of unanswered prayer, what does this even mean?
