Serving free hot meals

Noon on Thursdays @ St. George’s Church

Let's turn the tables on hunger in New York City. Together.

Please join us in this vital ministry where the community sits down side-by-side to share a delicious meal.

Become a volunteer.

Volunteering is a great way to become a part of the Common Table community. Some volunteers arrive around 8:30 A.M. to start with the food preparation, some around 10 A.M. to help with the set up, and others arrive around 11:30 A.M. to help with the serving and the cleanup. Many stay the entire time.

Hunger strikes closer than you think⎯a friend, classmate, coworker, neighbor, that stranger next to you.

Whoever you are, just as you are, there's a place for you at our Common Table.

There are no restrictions on who may attend. All are welcome. Please spread the word to anyone who you’d think would like to come.

St. George's Common Table serves a hot lunch to an average of 125 people every Thursday.

The doors open at 11:30 A.M. when hot coffee and tea are available. The meal is served from noon until 1 P.M. It consists of a nutritious hot soup, a main entrée, a green salad, buttered bread, homemade desserts and a piece of fresh fruit. The soup and main course vary each week and are freshly made that day. The desserts seem to be the highlight of the meal, as they consist of a huge assortment of cakes, pies and cookies⎯all of which are lovingly baked and donated by our volunteers.
